Frequently Asked Questions you may have

Home Watching, sometimes called ‘Home Watch’ or ‘property check service’ means regularly scheduled, in person visits to your home or cottage while you’re away. This is to make sure everything is safe, secure, and working the way it should. It’s not a one time inspection, it’s ongoing peace of mind for as long as you need it.
-
Every visit covers the exterior and interior of your property; checking doors, windows, and entry points for signs of forced entry; looking for leaks, water damage, pest activity, or storm damage; confirming systems like your heating, hot water heater, and appliances are running properly. After each visit, you get a report with photos, so you always know exactly what we found, even when everything’s fine.

A neighbour means well, but they’re doing you a favour, not a job. They’re not trained to spot a slow leak behind a wall, a failing sump pump, or an early sign of pests, and they won’t document what they see. We visit on a set schedule, know exactly what to look for, and give you a written record of every check. Many insurance policies for vacant or seasonal properties require regular, documented inspections to stay valid, which is a casual favour cannot provide.
